The Account Manager's role is to ensure Archer Oiltools customers' needs are a top priority for assigned accounts.  The account manager is responsible for creating incremental revenue and maximizing Archer Oiltool's market share and profits within assigned accounts while maintaining and growing the company's status as the recognized leader within the oil service industry.

Reporting Line

The Account Managers reports directly to the Sales & Service Delivery Manager.

Essential Job Functions

Strives to build relationships with customers by interacting closely with them, and endeavors to bring in new customers to the company. To the company make its business more successful by maintaining exemplary customer service in the assigned geographical region.

Account Planning

Responsible for developing and implementing account plans for all assigned accounts that support:

  1. Specific product line sales goals.
  2. Customer initiatives and anticipated needs.
  3. Strategies to service targeted buyers, non-buyers, and influencers.
  4. Effectively forecast revenue and activity level of assigned customers
  5. Create and implement strategy plan for assigned customer

Account Management

  • Provide Oiltools Management with frequent, timely feedback on account performance (share, potential, and competitive position) in order to facilitate planning.
  • Responsible for Archer Oiltools Region Market approach to assigned customer accounts.
  • Hold account-specific sales/technical meetings, lunch & learn and participate in any design review meetings with the appropriate Oil Company Representatives on an as-needed basis.
  • Coordinate with Region Marketing & Sales Manager, Product Line Managers and Marketing team to ensure proper account/ customer coverage in the event of absences due to training, team member illness, etc.
  • Call on key account buyers / influencers, and when necessary coordinate with operations and other Oil Tools marketing members on problem/difficult accounts.  Primary contact should be with Marketing team and Region Marketing & Sales Manager.

Sales Performance Monitoring

  • Support the Marketing team and product lines management with sales performance information. 
  • Support the Archer Client Report Database by entering all sales calls on the systems and review the OTOS (Oiltools Operating System) Client Report information for key accounts to track Archer Oiltools activity within assigned accounts.

Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor and record any performance issues on flaw execution of jobs by having post job meetings with customers and record any continuous improvements for the next  job
  • Monitor and record successful wins and losses on quotations, bids and tenders. Evaluate where we were positioned against competitors regardless if won or loss; i.e., why did we win or why did we lose?
  • Document monthly sales calls with customers

Management

  • Consider and pursue new, profitable avenues for increasing the effectiveness of Archer Oiltools.
  • Support the Archer Oiltools Client Database and continually update processes through which complete and accurate information on market opportunities and competitor tactics/activities can be obtained.  Information should be delineated by product line, and should include information on customer concerns and attitudes about service requirements, new product needs, pricing, on-time delivery, etc.
  • Develop and continually update processes through which information about customer needs, new products, and potential problems is quickly and effectively communicated to the appropriate Archer departments.
  • Participate in weekly scheduled department meetings.
  • Work co-operatively with other Archer Oiltools and Archer departments, including Norway and USA Marketing teams and Archer companies in sharing ideas and resources to maximize Archer's effectiveness in the Region.
  • Be a front line representative in developing and maintaining customer relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Education Requirements

         Minimum:      2 Year Degree     

         Preferred:      4 Year Degree

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing or sales experience with direct customer contact by building relationships. Any completion, cementing or well intervention experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with Gulf of Mexico deep-water and shelf customers
  • 3 years offshore experience in a relative discipline is desired
  • Knowledge of general business computer software; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)  and aptitude to learn new software applications
  • Marketing & Operational administration experience is essential.

Licenses, Certificates, Credentials, and Other Requirements

  • Must pass Pre-employment screening and random testing
  • Must be able to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as needed to meet customer needs
  • Manual dexterity required for operating tools, machinery and computers
  • Use of personal protection equipment is required as stated in QHSE and Archer handbook
  • Must be able to sit, walk or stand for long periods of time
  • Complete Safety U courses and comply with procedures and requirements
  • Participate in monthly safety walks as scheduled
  • Actively report observations in OTOS; minimum three per month
